Terms of Use.

By downloading, accessing or using NoteID, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.

Age requirement

You must be at least 18 years old, and old enough to enter into a binding contract where you live, to use NoteID. The AI services that power NoteID are intended for adults. The app’s App Store age rating describes its content, not its intended audience.

Your licence to use the app

If you downloaded NoteID from the Apple App Store, your licence to use the app is governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (“Standard EULA”). These Terms add to the Standard EULA. If they conflict, the Standard EULA applies to your licence to the app, and these Terms apply to everything else about the Service.

NoteID uses artificial intelligence to identify banknotes from photos and provide information about them. Depending on the note and the information available, results may include country, issuer, denomination, series, design, security features, historical context, visible serial numbers, condition observations and indicative collector values.

NoteID also lets you keep a scan history, save banknotes, organize collections, add personal notes, search your scans, share results and explore reference photos or related notes.

We use service providers, including third-party AI providers, to deliver the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Results depend on the quality, lighting and angle of your photos, the visible features of the note and the information available to the model. A clear photo or a confident-sounding explanation does not guarantee a correct result.

Authentication and value

• NoteID does not certify authenticity, detect every counterfeit, assign an official grade or provide a professional appraisal.
• Security-feature guidance cannot establish authenticity from a photograph. Consult a qualified specialist when authenticity matters.
• Indicative values are general information, not guaranteed sale prices or financial advice. Actual value depends on condition, variety, demand and other market factors.
• Do not rely on NoteID alone for buying, selling, insurance, legal or other decisions that require expert verification.

You are responsible for checking results and for decisions you make using them. Banknote guides and reference images are informational and may contain errors.

You don’t need to sign up to use NoteID. The first time you open the app, a guest account is created automatically so your scans can be saved.

• You can create an account with your email address and a password. Your existing scans stay with your account, and you can sign in to it on another device.
• Without an email account, your scans are tied to your guest account on your device and may not be recoverable if you lose access to it.
• You’re responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account.

You can delete an email account in the app under Profile › Account › Delete Account. To delete a guest account or all of your data, follow the steps on our Support page.

“Your Content” means the photos, notes, collection names and messages you submit to NoteID. You keep any ownership rights you have in Your Content.

You give Nexdev a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, transmit and display Your Content, and to share it with our service providers, including our AI providers, only as needed to operate and provide the Service to you. We don’t use Your Content to train AI models. This licence ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for copies kept for a limited time in backups as described in our Privacy Policy.

You’re responsible for Your Content and confirm that you have the rights needed to submit it.

Results generated for you

Subject to these Terms, you may use the scan results and summaries NoteID generates for you for any lawful purpose, including in your business. Because results are generated by AI, others may receive similar results. General banknote guides are shared across the Service and don’t contain Your Content.

• Only upload photos you took yourself or have the right to use.
• Photos should show the banknote you want identified. Only include people when you’re allowed to, and avoid documents, screens and other personal information.
• Don’t upload content that is illegal, sexually explicit, violent, hateful or harassing, or that infringes anyone’s rights.

Photos are processed as described in our Privacy Policy, including by third-party AI providers. We may remove content or restrict access if we reasonably believe it violates these Terms.

You agree not to:

• use NoteID in a way that breaks any law or infringes anyone’s rights;
• present NoteID results to others, such as a customer, buyer or authority, as a certified authentication, official grade or professional appraisal;
• copy, modify, distribute, sell or lease any part of the Service, or reverse engineer it or try to extract its source code, except where the law allows;
• access the Service or its servers other than through the app, including with bots, scrapers or other automated means, or use it to build a competing product or dataset;
• get around subscriptions, usage limits or security features, or share paid access in ways these Terms don’t allow;
• interfere with or disrupt the Service, its servers or networks, or upload malware;
• use the Service in a way that violates the terms of our AI providers, such as trying to generate harmful content;
• impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your connection to any person or organization.

We may set reasonable limits on use to protect the Service and prevent abuse.

The Service is owned by Nexdev or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. This includes the app, its design, software, text, banknote guides, graphics, logos and the NoteID name. These Terms don’t give you any rights to our trademarks.

Subject to these Terms and the Standard EULA, you may use the app on Apple devices you own or control, for your personal purposes and for the internal purposes of your business.

If you believe content in NoteID infringes your rights, contact us at support@nexdev.codes. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

NoteID is free to download. Identifying banknotes and the Pro features shown in the app require NoteID Pro, which is offered as auto-renewable subscriptions:

• NoteID Pro Weekly — renews every week.
• NoteID Pro Yearly — renews every year.

The subscription name, length, price and what’s included are shown in the app before you buy. Prices may vary by country and include any taxes where required.

• Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. We never receive your payment card details.
• Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically for the same length and at the current price unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Managing and cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings at any time (see Cancellation).
• Free trials. We don’t currently offer free trials. If we offer one in the future, its length and the price that applies afterwards will be shown before you start it, and it will convert to a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
• Price changes. We may change subscription prices. Apple will tell you about a price change as its rules require, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
• Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple, and refund requests are handled by Apple under its policies at reportaproblem.apple.com. This doesn’t affect any rights you have under applicable consumer law.
• Restoring purchases. Your subscription is linked to your Apple Account. You can restore it on another device or after reinstalling the app with Profile › Settings › Restore Purchases.

You can cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store account settings: open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions › NoteID. In NoteID, you can also go to Profile › Settings › Manage Subscription.

Cancelling stops future renewals. Your access to NoteID Pro continues until the end of the period you’ve already paid for. Deleting the app or your NoteID account doesn’t cancel your subscription.

If you downloaded NoteID from the Apple App Store, the following also applies:

• These Terms are between you and Nexdev only, not Apple. Nexdev, not Apple, is solely responsible for NoteID and its content.
• Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support services for NoteID. Contact us for support.
• If NoteID fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any, for the app. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to NoteID.
• Nexdev, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to NoteID or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to conform to any legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
• If a third party claims that NoteID or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, Nexdev, not Apple, is responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
• You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• You must comply with any applicable third-party terms when using NoteID.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, once you accept them, have the right to enforce them against you.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NoteID is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.

In particular, we don’t warrant that scan results, estimates, confidence scores or other results will be accurate, complete or reliable, or that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free.

Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain warranties to be excluded, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms affects consumer rights that can’t be waived under applicable law.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nexdev and its affiliates, officers, employees and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service, including any decision you make based on AI results.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for NoteID Pro in the 12 months before the claim.

These limitations don’t apply to liability that can’t be limited or excluded by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer protection law.

You can stop using NoteID at any time by deleting the app, and you can delete your account or ask us to delete your data. Remember to cancel any subscription separately.

We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop providing the Service. Where reasonable, we’ll tell you in advance.

When your access ends, your right to use the Service stops, and your data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should continue to apply will survive, including the AI Identification Disclaimer, Intellectual Property, Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability.

We’re continually improving NoteID. We may add, change or remove features, change the AI models or providers we use, or set reasonable usage limits. Results for the same photo may therefore change over time.

We may also suspend or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part. If we discontinue the Service while you have an active subscription, refunds are handled in line with Apple’s policies and applicable law.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We’ll post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. If the changes are material, we’ll notify you in the app or on this page before they take effect and, where the law requires it, notify the app stores and ask for your consent. If you keep using NoteID after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the country where Nexdev is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also benefit from any mandatory protections of the law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country where the law allows. Nothing in these Terms limits those rights.

Before starting a formal dispute, please contact us at support@nexdev.codes so we can try to resolve the issue informally.

• If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
• These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and, where it applies, Apple’s Standard EULA, are the entire agreement between you and Nexdev about the Service.
• You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours, for example as part of a merger or sale of assets, as long as your rights aren’t reduced.
• If we don’t enforce a right, that doesn’t mean we waive it.
• These Terms may be provided in several languages. If a translation conflicts with the English version, the English version prevails to the extent permitted by law.
